Why study Computer Knowledge
- It is scoring. Questions are direct: a shortcut, a full form, a formula result. If you have revised, the mark is certain.
- It is practical. Almost every office job in J&K (clerk, accountant, patwari, teacher, police) now uses a computer and Excel daily.
- Excel is the highest-value topic. Many exams ask what a formula returns. Unit 6 gives the syntax, a worked example and the typical trap for each formula.
- It is a short syllabus. Most of it can be revised in a few days.
How the exams weigh it
Computer questions usually form a small block in the General Awareness or General Knowledge paper, and some posts (clerical, accounts, assistant and similar) add a separate computer proficiency or typing test. The number of questions and the level change from exam to exam, so always check the latest notification, syllabus and previous year papers.
Start with the first topic: Generations of Computers.
Keep practising
Notes are only half the work. Test yourself with questions and discuss doubts with other aspirants.
