How the graphs work
Graphs appear inside the topics. They are drawn only from published official figures (Economic Survey, Budget documents, Parliament and Assembly replies, NITI Aayog) and each graph names its source. Where two official replies give slightly different numbers, the notes say so.
Why study this subject
- It is local. JKPSC and JKSSB papers ask direct questions on horticulture, handicrafts, GI tags, hydropower, tourism and schemes of J&K.
- It is current. Most questions come from the latest Economic Survey, the Budget, new railway and tunnel projects and new schemes such as Mission YUVA.
- It joins other subjects. Geography (crops, rivers, minerals), Polity (Article 370, Reorganisation Act, Finance Commission) and History (land reforms, Naya Kashmir) all feed into the economy.
- ODOP is a favourite. District-wise products are asked as simple matching questions. Unit 9 gives every district.
How to use these notes
- Read one topic at a time from the list on the left (or tap Topics on a phone).
- Study each graph and table, then close the page and recall the numbers.
- Read the Exam tip and Memory trick boxes, then the J&K corner.
- In the last week, use Unit 11: Quick Revision only.
Start with the first topic: Economic History of J&K.
